Richarlison keen on making quick start with Everton

Everton’s summer signing Richarlison is keen to make a quick impression with the Toffees during the upcoming Premier League season. The Brazilian arrived from Watford earlier last month and he has since been one of the club’s standout performers during pre-season despite the results not going their way.

Speaking to reporters, Richarlison cited that he wants to score his maiden Toffees goal at the earliest possibility in order to show off his pigeon dance. Meanwhile, the attacker refused to speak about the speculation related to close friend Yerry Mina citing that the issue should be dealt with the Colombian’s representatives.

He said: “I’m hoping to score my first goal and do the dance that I promised, the pigeon dance, so I look forward to it and it’s good that the fans are waiting for it.Yerry Mina’s a great guy, and he’s also a great dancer. When he played for Palmeiras he’d always celebrate with a dance. ‘We became friends and I speak to him regularly. I’ve not asked him any questions about his future, that’s an issue for his people to deal with.”

Richarlison took the Premier League by storm last term after he scored five goals for Watford within a couple of months. However, he thereafter struggled to adapt to the intensity of the league and ended the campaign without contributing another goal. As such, there had been doubts placed over his potential but Marco Silva has nonetheless taken the risk with him after getting to witness some of his best bits whilst he was the manager at Vicarage Road.

Regardless of this, Everton could experience a tough season ahead if the pre-season form is anything to go by. The Merseyside outfit managed to win just one of their seven friendlies under Silva and they can now expect a testing challenge when they make the trip to west Midlands to face Wolverhampton Wanderers in the curtain raiser.
